Matt Gleeson is an accidental punk rock photogapher.

Wandering into a pub in December 2013 with a camera in hand, to catch an old friend’s band, Matt has since gone on to capture literally tens of thousands of photographs of local, interstate and international punk, folk punk, ska, and hardcore bands performing in various venues around Melbourne.

In April 2016 Matt released his first book, ‘Passion 4 Punk: Melbourne Punk Music 2013-2015’, with all profits from sales being donated to mental health and suicide charities.  He is currently working on a second book of live music photographs focused on the Melbourne based, Nevermind The Warp’d Tour Festival.

In June 2014 Matt launched the Sub v2.0 Photography website where he curates his growing collection of photographs and occasionally makes forays into writing.

When not shooting bands, Matt can be most often found wandering the streets in search for the piece of street art or abandoned space that will bring the three seconds of bliss that is the feeling of discovery.
